Following a true vocation - about our founder

A burning desire to follow her true vocation was the driving force behind Catriona Davies’ decision to set up Resolution Mediation Scotland in 2014.

After a successful 20 year career in children’s services and the National Health Service, Catriona realised it was time to do something which really set her heart alight. It had to be something which made her excited to get out of bed every single day, something she really excelled at.

The decision to focus her skills and energy on supporting people was easy, because working with people was always Catriona’s real passion. She knew from her own career that dispute and disharmony is so very damaging for everyone involved. Having direct experience of a prolonged family dispute simply consolidated her belief that there had to be a better way to deal with conflict, whether at home or at work. Having also taken big steps to reorientate her own life and career in a direction that truly mattered to her, Catriona then sought to empower others to do the same. And so Resolution Mediation Scotland was born.

By combining her extensive experience, intensive training and qualifications Catriona  witnesses the transformative effect of her work every day. Not only does Catriona take huge professional satisfaction from supporting people to move on from difficult, unsatisfying situations, but she loves seeing the positive changes which emerge in the lives of her clients.

Catriona qualified as a family mediator with Relationships Scotland, is a University of Derby accredited coach practitioner, and is registered as a mediator with Scottish Mediation.
